We're tracking Bavi. It's gonna be a lot longer of a flight to Guam for me now than compared to Vongfong a few months ago.

165mph sustained is very bad news, like pack what you can carry and GTFO bad news.

100% bad news. I have been outside in 100mph sustained before and it is wicked. Add that plus going down the highway...

I'm getting close to a dozen hurricanes so far. I think Ivan was 120mph gusts when it came onshore. Sandy was a bitch to drive through at landfall, but it wasn't that strong. Vongfong wasn't strong either, but being on an island way out in the Pacific kind of added an "oh shit" factor to it.

Sandy stranded me in Chicago, all for nothing too. Weak sauce. I do love a good storm though when on dry land

165mph sustained is like getting stuck in an F3 tornado. That's obscene.

I've been through typhoons on Guam that reached 100mph sustained, and that was absolutely terrifying. And I was in one of these base houses - basically a bomb shelter with 2ft thick walls and storm shutters designed specifically for strong winds. Can't imagine riding one out in a 'regular' structure.

Usually an airplane works. I wouldn't suggest a boat.

Ah yes. Being a tax haven in an island sort of thing to do.
